I have a second hand story along those lines. From someone who used to work a support line in the old days of 5" floppy disk drives:

"Put the disk in the drive, label side up, oval hole towards the computer."

"Okay, done."

"Then close the door."

"Okay, hang on."

<sound of phone being put down, footsteps, sound of office door being closed, footsteps>

"Okay, now what?"
