Yeah, shooting ranges. Or out in the country as long as you're not tresspassing.

I'm guessing it was purchased for a collectable not to be fired but I am curious anyway.

It will definitely be fired. It is a legal gun - it's not fully automatic, just semi-automatic. It was manufactured in 2003 in Romania and imported here with 5 parts replaced with US made parts to meet federal regulations (the ATF only allows a certain number of parts per gun to be imported. why? I don't know). It is illegal in California though. They have no right to bear arms in the CA constitution, so they can ban whatever they want.
