I was reorganizing and renaming my MP3-files when I discovered that a lot of my playlists were suddenly incorrect. So I wrote a small program which automatically generates m3u-files in directories where MP3-files live. I've also added an option to prefix the playlist with an underscore when it is newer than a given number of days.
The playlists are named after the directory in which it is created.
Anyway, I think there will be some people who can use it... I've created it in delphi 6 personal edition, so source must be and is included.
It's a console app, so you can easily schedule an AT-job under windows 2000. Try running it without parameters to show the syntax :
mkm3u: not enough parameters
Usage: mkm3u [-a ndays] [-v] [-d] mp3-root-directory
-a n : create extra m3u-playlists which get prefixed by an underscore.
only files which are newer than n days get added.
-v : verbose reporting.
-d : delete all existing m3u files before creating new ones
mkm3u is a utility to generate m3u files from mp3-directories.
