Quote: Hey Chuck, my friend is installing his empeg into an 03 WRX this weekend. I've passed on whatever I could remember from my install (and Jim Hogan's) but that was three years ago. I was wondering if you had any tips or details on cutting the dash bezel, running of wires and mounting of amp. I'm sure your memory is fresher than mine!
For the bezel, I did just as Loren pointed out, made a rough cut and used small files to get the sled to fit just right. I did the same with the plexiglass/clock combo and used epoxy to hold it in place. For wiring the Empeg, I used a plug-in adapter and connected it to the factory plug so no wires would be cut. After that it was basic wiring, Amp power wires run down the drivers side of the car and RCA/speaker wires on the passenger side, to avoid noise. My amps are mounted on a false floor I made out of MDF and covered with factory match carpet.
