I know that standard FM radios don't work well in a car and that you need an FM module designed for use on the move.

Does the same apply to DAB radio ?

One of the things that has always put me off installing my empegs in the car has been the problem of not having a radio when the empeg isn't there. Sometimes I am not going to want to drag the empeg around with me and 50% of the time I am in the car I am listening to Radio 4. With the empeg installed that would leave me without Radio 4 when I have to leave the empeg at home.

The thought occurred to me that if I ripped the guts out of a portable DAB radio and built it into the car somewhere I could still listen to the radio when the empeg wasn't there. I don't really need to change channels, so all I would need to do was turn it on and off and change the volume.

So, does a standard DAB tuner work well in a car ?
