What Nokia does this? My N95 does check for a signature but just pops up a warning to say that it doesn't have a valid signature if its not there. It still lets you install anything you want.

I think the cat is pretty much of the bag at this point. Not providing a SDK won't do much to stop the hacking of the iPhone/iPod Touch.
