I'm with Tony. At the $250 price point, there's no point in shelling out for repairs. If you're trying to minimize your expenditures, you might consider finding another Onkyo unit of the same vintage, used on eBay or something, and perhaps cannibalizing them together into one working unit.

DIY repair worked for me when I had a problem with my old TV. As always, your mileage may vary.

Or, just buy the $250 new unit and be happy.
