Well, the videk was worth a shot. I am certain I will be able to use it for another project.

As to the custom cable, I should be able to make one myself, but there is something nice about having the real thing. If any become available, let me know.

By the way, what was the issue with using the existing fdisk and upgrade utility on large drives? This drive did not seem to have any problems at all. Any symptoms I should watch for?
