Unfortunately, TMNT was actually a really good comic book back in the days of the black-and-white explosion of the mid-to-late eighties. Then it got commercialized out the wazoo, turned to utter crap, and as a final blow, they let one of the biggest hacks in the comic book biz take over writing it. [sigh]

(Actually, that cartoon was out in the late eighties, as well, and wasn't rerun that much, AFAIK, so it may refute the Driver's License point.)
