Since Tony has mentioned the "equally weighted artist" playlist and I have been using this type of playlist a LOT, there is one more thing that could really help make this type of playlist even better.

If the "play x tracks at random" feature would allow to select not-so-random criteria (ie: select tracks that haven't been played recently) then you would get less repeat songs when setting up a "equally weighted artist" playlist. Right now, there are some songs I hear very often, and others that hardly ever come up (For some reason my player really likes "Master of Puppets").

I don't have 250 artist on my player yet (working on it though), so this feature would help me to always be hearing stuff I didn't hear last time through the list.
