7-Eleven celebrates it's 75th anniversary tomorrow (7/11) with giving away 7.11oz Slurpees to the first 1000 customers in each store. I'm gonna do my best to get there.

I have this vision of Bart and Milhouse sitting in front of the Kwiki-Mart giving themselves brain freezes with free Squishees.

Can someone tell me why that "ice and sugar" takes so damn long to mix? It seems like every time I want a "squishie", they're always mixing. And the guy usually tells me something like "that won't be ready for 20 minutes"
It certainly is cool that they're doing that though. Despite the fact that slurpee's are pretty cheap anyway

That was sort of tongue in cheek. Cyber and Solomon should probably never be used together in serious sentence.

What could be better than the experience of brain-freeze coupled with a blue tongue.
Oh what the heck. If it's free....

I feel a round of Binge Squishee drinking coming on - beginning with a squishee on the highest sugar setting.
Mmmm, free goo.

Hmm, what time does this start? I once tried to get a slurpee at midnight with a(frighteningly) persistent friend, and we found that the four 7-11's (All within a mile and a half) all had their slurpee machines defrost/refreeze at midnight... Oh well, I think I'll wait and spend my dollar next time I want a slurpee.

You have to go out of your way to find a 7-11? Wow, I've never experienced that in America. Sounds like heaven.

Yeah, no kidding. In my Washington DC suburban town center we have 2 stores within 2 blocks of each other. Of course, on those same two blocks we also have 2 McDonalds

If you think that's bad, lets talk about Starbucks. They're EVERYWHERE. It's definitely the worst in Seattle (for obvious reasons). I think it's an intersection in Seattle that has one at all four corners.

ya over near mission steet in san fran no matter how hard you try you can loose site of a starbucks anywhere, thats always entertaing, there are seriously 2 one accross the street from one another over there it out of control. On another note there are 2 7-11 here in petaluma within a .3 mile radious and there are a total of 5 in town that i know of. and petaluma isnt much more than a honky town anyhow. Corprate America is funny.

Yeah, that's a little far. I'm surprised there isn't one closer to such a large city.
Check out my options. Looks like I'll be getting 3 free Slurpees tomorrow.

I would have 126 miles to go to get to the nearest 7-11. That doesn't sound right. Oh well, I don't need one that bad.

7-Eleven normally doesn't have 7.11oz Slurpee cups. So it's probably that each location only gets 1000 "special" cups. When they run out of cups, maybe they will let you fill a regular cup 2/3 the way. I doubt it though.
I would assume they start giving them away at 4-6AM. There are too many hoodlums that hang out at the Stony Point, NY 7-11. I used to be one of them (nothing better to do in a small town). The hoods would probably put too much of a dent in the cups to start giving them away at 12AM.
If you want one at Midnight, you could probably bring in a printout from the web. They will probably just give it to you to get you out of the store.
Speaking of free food... I just got back from PF Changs where the Lettuce Wraps were on the house for some unknown reason. Free lettuce wraps and Slurpee.... This is turning out to be a great week.

Is that all? I would have to travel close to 400 miles... assuming that they still have 7-11 stores in Anchorage...

But it would only take you a couple of hours or so to drive there in your sho-wagon and you would have some great music to listen to on the way But that's assuming that there is a road there which I don't think there is. In that case it would probably be a days ride by dog sled.
