Just now I sat down and saw that I was no longer automatically logged in to any of the message boards I belong to (about 4 that I regularly visit). That includes this one. It's not like this happened gradually. I had visited each of these boards this morning and have visited them regularly for months.

Should I be worried, or did Tony just reboot my part of the internet?

If they all run similar software to the UBBThreads here, it's possible the cookies used for login all expired at the same time.

Digging around in the cookie manager on my browser, it shows the ones set here expire in 10 days. Did you leave that browser alone for longer then that?

No way, I check this board constantly. Plus, each of these boards are different, and use 3 completely different systems. This one is UBBthreads, the others UBBclassic, phpBB2, and an EZboard.

I figured it was a cookies thing, but I couldn't think what would delete them all at once.

I've had this happen to me at work a number of times. Never figured out why.

someone probably borrowed your computer to surf for pr0n and then cleaned out the cache, cookies and history behind them.

Or perhaps the IE cache size limit was reached and they were overwritten.

How inconsiderate! Didn't they ever stop to think that I might have wanted to see it too?
