Greetings!

In yet another wonderful attempt to <expletive> buyers, there is a seller on ebay peddling wholesale lists for purchasing the empeg. I have seen them for sale as other products, but this is the first time I have seen one masquerading as an empeg.

If there are any buyers watching the forums for information, be certain of what you are bidding on - read the listing carefully and trust the seller, ask questions, etc.

This dolt did not even get the name right in the auction titles...

And you too can buy a list for $89.99 on where to buy an empeg

Seems that info lists are the only thing that guy sells. eBay shouldn't allow crap like that.

"REMEMBER , YOU ARE NOT BIDDING ON ANY ACTUAL PRODUCT , WE ALSO DO NOT GURANTEE ANY PRICE OR DISCOUNT OFFERED BY THIRD PARTY COMPANIES WHICH WE ARE IN NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH. PRODUCT SHOWN IS AN EXAMPLE ONLY , AND STOCK VARIES WITH AVAILABILITY AND TIME, SO IT IS NOT GURANTEED THAT THE PRODUCT SHOWN WILL BE AVAILABLE AT TIME OF PURCHASE, BUT SIMILAR PRODUCTS WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE."

LOL....

Interestingly nearly all of the feedback he/she/it's got is from buying other useless lists or info. There's only one neutral feedback and that's from somebody that had actually bought of the CDs.

I guess it's a easy way of getting a good rating as after a while, eBay deletes old auction details.

Well so far it seems no one has been "smart enough" to take advantage of this "deal." I certainly hope it stays that way.

Wow, this is funny! I'd always seen those "wholesale lists" on EBay but never could figure out WHY they were being sold. Now, I see:

Uncautious EBay buyer sees the text of the item that looks like an empeg listing and skips the boring text about how it's a list. Haha, good idea.

But, as I say with all internet advertisement, spam, popup ads, banner ads, spam IM messages, etc: How could ANYONE be so stupid to click on that stuff? I've been told that people actually DO try to win $20 by punching the monkey.

Oh well, one of the most fascinating eBay auctions I ever watched was at approx. 40$ when 1 hour was left and kept going up to 80$ when it closed. What it was about?

A self-burned CD with a software development kit for Psion Series 5 / Netbook computers (EPOC R5). The really funny thing is that this wasn't even an illegal copy: The SDK could be downloaded for _free_ at that time.

Sven

What about the infamous Playstation 2 box and receipt auction from a while back? Or the newer one for an Xbox box...

I guess you guarantee that somebody out there will not read the description of the auction and just blindly bid.

What a crock o' sheite. In the auction he states the following:

The unit has never been installed and is in "new" condition.
I am also throwing in an Amber face plate as a bonus!

Yeah, I don't like it, but compared to the last empeg 'list' auction we saw, this one is straight up. I really wish I'd archived that listing - it was priceless in it's deception.

Micman: Verbatim description from another listing recently. Man, I HATE when people steal listings. Then, the buyer starts to doubt the real AND the stolen listing as being fake. Because who knows which is the real one.

That's why I loved that listing a while back that had all the pictures (from someone on the board). Right click was java disabled so people couldn't (Easily) steal the pics. Nice work.

But I can't believe that PS2 scam. I'll have to start reading my listings a little closer when I buty stuff....
