A few of bands that I've come across. If you like the 'Hip or Blue Rodeo, you may like

The Insiders - New to me, but have been around for awhile. They're apparently out of the Chicago area.

Jolene - I saw these guys when they were the HardSoul Poets. They alternated their songs with covers of Andy Griffith Mayberry songs. "This is the song where Earnest T Bass tries to marry Charlene Darling." I was an instant fan.

De Palmas. They're a French band with, of course, French lyrics. (I just sing "watermelon, watermelon" in time with the music.)

Does anyone else find cruising used CD shops for forgotten bands more satisfying than finding a new band?
