I have the 2.0 final (developer) and Hijack 335 and having this issue:

[hijack]
;@EXEC /usr/local/bin/emphatic
;@EXEC /usr/local/bin/empacman
;@EXEC /usr/local/bin/emptris

This is in my config.ini yet only emphatic is on the Hijack menu. I verified these programs are located in /usr/local/bin... any ideas?

I verified these programs are located in /usr/local/bin...
Did you also verify that they are tagged as executable?

How would I do that?
Like this.

Actually I think I know what's going on.. I can't synchronize anything right now for some reason. I was just uploading a bunch of music which worked awhile ago. Then I tried entering those lines and was getting stuck on that. I reopened the player database and the config.ini and those lines I just mentioned aren't even there. Even if I try re-entering them and Synchronizing, they don't stay. I'll check the serial log here in a min and get back to you guys.

Even if I try re-entering them and Synchronizing, they don't stay.
This is a classic symptom of the player being unable to unmount/remount the drives as read-only or read-write because there's a live program running from /drive0 at synchronize time. That folder you put those programs in... is it on /drive0?

/me goes to beef up the FAQ entry about FSCK...

OK I saw the FAQ entry and I'm trying those steps but I'm running into this problem.

I hit 'q' to get to the shell prompt. RO worked, but when I do 'unmount /dev/hda4' it says:

bash: unmount: command not found

Am I doing this right?

Check your spelling very very carefully, one letter at a time. This goes for all Unix commands.

Remember that Unix commands aren't always spelled the same as the english words that they represent. Look CLOSELY at those instructions in the FAQ...

I work in the Knowledge Management arena in my company and we have a phrase that we use often when we are developing a new knowledge base or knowledge tool. I think that this applies to a lot of your posts, Tony:

Well I followed that list of commands and after the SYNC command I unplugged the power cord and cycled power but I still can't synchronize. Here's a paste of the serial log after I first started up. For some reason, in Hyperterminal when i scrolls up beyond the screen the text gets garbled somewhat so hopefully you can see something in this:

No other drive trouble that I could tell. Though I've always had issues from day 1 with issues like synching a lot of files at once.. I would always have to synch some files again for them to remain on the EMPEG.

Kill emphatic before you sync.

It's a good idea to prefix your EXEC lines with ";@DC" so that they only run in the car;
