For some reason iTunes didn't read all my tags correctly, so I am having to re-tag about a third of my MP3 collection.

Unsynced v1 & v2 tags perhaps? MP3 Tag Studio 3 is what you want in any case.

I had a similar issue but figured out I could share my library and access it by any other computer on my network running iTunes. (I've even heard that a mac iTunes can access a win iTunes library and vice versa).

So far, I really like the application and the ability it gives me as a player to drill down into genres, artists, etc to play music and the ability to select multiple genres to play. I also let it take control of my MASTER mp3 storage and I was actually quite pleased about the way it organized my files.

verdict? Kudos to Apple

I can verify this works. In those screenshots above, DragonBook and DragonCube are my Powerbook and G4 Cube Macs.

FYI, they just released iTunes 4.1.1 for windows which is supposed to fix some of the issues people had with the initial build.
