CrackersMcCheese pooh-bah Registered: 14/01/2002 Posts: 2489	I have 2 Xeon 3.06GHz CPUs for sale, but what does matched pair mean? They are both 3066DP/512/533/1.525, SL6VP But the other numbers differ. I don't want to advertise them as a matched pair if thats not what they are.

Daria carpal tunnel Registered: 24/01/2002 Posts: 3937 Loc: Providence, RI	Typically it means "matching stepping" but you'll need to find out where the stepping is printed on those particular CPUs. I think it used to be in the center of the underside (pin side) of the processor.

drakino carpal tunnel Registered: 08/06/1999 Posts: 7868	Also keep in mind motherboards may be able to support them, even if the steppings do not match. Every Proliant I have worked with allows mixed steppings, as long as the lowest stepping processor is in slot 1.
