Suddenly duct taped on body kits and type R badges don't look so dumb.

I had to take a picture of this. Keep in mind, this is one of the more tasteful things we've done to perfectly good cars. Connecticut is a scary place.

I've brought my digital camera to keep at work. Remember, this is one of the better looking examples. It gets worse. Much worse.

Hmmm.... I bet that with a pair of vice grips, you could make that look exactly like a Jaguar!

It wouldn't be in the UK -- they changed the law after someone got impaled on something. Jaguars are OK because they don't have sharp edges, but Spirits of Ecstasy (on Rolls-Royces) now come on little springs so they retract into the bonnet if anyone lands on them.

And, when I dealt with RR over in Crewe, before it became a Volkswagen, you could pay an obscene amount extra to have a "spirit of ectasy" which retracts into the top of the radiator grill, so that their trade mark symbol on your car doesn't get vandalised at your expense.

In case you've never spotted it, you never see a RR official publicity photo, where the logos aren't the right way up in the centre of the wheels - prove me wrong!

They were fine with hub caps, which you could take off and put the right way up, but alloy wheels meant jacking up the car and turning them round, whilst being careful not to damage the surface they're standing on: Hell on a beach!

The new German engineered RR has wheel centres that automatically self level so that the logo is always the right way up. I'm not kidding, it's true...

The obsession continues: When I was doing brochure work, even for internal communications, you had to take it to the publicity people who would study the work through a magnifying glass to ensure the logo was not just those few degrees non PC, some of the most gruelling silences in my career!
Then they bought out that Italian designed coupe - can't remember the name at this distance - that broke all their rules, the diehard Rolls workers didn't like to touch it. Even the radiator was off vertical to fit the engine in the space. They were about as popular as a Maserati engine in a Citroen factory!

Same rules apply in Denmark.

I've seen simular wheel centres used for advertising in Denmark and Sweden - My opinion is that it looks plain stupid! Also on a RR!
