I'm thinking of this ? This be suitable for me? It says CF type I... will this fit the ixus 500?

what about those muvo 2 creative version 1 mp3 players? they have a 4gb cf card in them.

Unless you are shooting lots of video or RAW a 4GB card is complete overkill. You also run the risk of "all your eggs in one basket". While CF cards are extremely robust, cameras do sometimes screw up and corrupt them.

Several 512MB/1GB cards is a better idea, in my opinion.

And to answer Phillip's question, yes the cards will work.

Yeah plus the 512mb is only about £28 which is good for me. I'd never get the 4gb as (a) i'd never fill it (b) I'd get lazy, leave them all on there and then cry when it corrupts.

£43 gets you a 1GB card from Scan. I bought mine from them at xmas and haven't had any problems with it so far.

Hope it isn't one of the slow no-name ones. Some of those are six times as slow when used in a CF reader than the best ones !

(though the good ones are just over twice the price)
