At the party this year (September 16th) we want to be sure that everyone gets to hear at least some music they like. The easiest solution - we'll play YOUR selection! Simply book a 30 minute slot, prepare a playlist as close as possible to that duration, and turn up to the sound gazebo at the appropriate time to slam your empeg in the dock! We'll keep a set list so everyone will know who to thank (or blame) for the choons during the evening.

If you prefer to play from your iPod, Karma etc then we'll have all the bases covered. Oh, and if you want to play a live set you could go down in empeg meet history!

So come on party goers, book your slot now! Simply email me with your preference of early (20:00-22:00) or late (22:00-24:00) and I'll mail you back with a slot on a first come first served basis.

Just one slot left - 21:30 - 22:00, which is definitely prime time! I'd also be prepared to give up my 20:00-20:30 "people still arriving at the party" slot if anyone wanted it!

Mail me!

Wow, JG segued into Godfrey, that's going to be worth hearing! Are there going to be two docks and some sort of Numark crossfader gear? Whose job is it to beatmatch at the changeovers?

I'm guessing an awkward pause as one player is powered down and removed followed by another pause as the other one starts up, possibily punctuated by various thumps and pops.

Indeed, especially as JG doesn't actually know he's playing a set yet! Still, I feel his empeg birthday party megamix is definitely ready for a wider audiance!

Yes, all the kit you could shake a stick at (but please refrain from doing so). However if any of the sets seamlessly transition I'll be more than a little impressed!

I do hope to have a live mixed set around midnight, if I can talk Logan (former Rio, now Numark QA chap) into it. It may not be played on empegs but it'll definitely be played on decks containing plenty of empeg software. As our new advertising slogan reminds us, the revolution will be played on hard disk!

If you're expecting to be able to play the whole of that song then, well, I suggest you put duct tape over your IR receiver -- there'll be a lot of people there with remotes in their pockets!

do what?

- I can alter the pitch on the Revox!

- I've already knocked 2.27 off my opening six minute track to appeal to a younger audience

I've been trying to puzzle out whether to leave in the Ma Rainey, or replace it with the Jimmy Rushing (Mr. 5 x 5) with the Count Basie Orchestra, myself.

Mine will be a mix of punk, rock, metal, crossover... Not too heavy, but good party tunes. Get your air-guitars ready...

My set will be quality house and trance with an Ibiza twist. One or two surprise tracks in there too.
Anyone want to be a sound tech during the gig? It'll mean helping with the get-in at around 6-7pm and then helping to keep the system running smoothly during the evening. You also get to play with some l33t PA gadgetry!!!1

Yea, I can make myself available pretty early if a 3rd pair of hands is needed, I can't make it to the meet itself but we will be driving down early afternoon.

Aww... go on! It would be great to have a record of everything that got played that night.

Warm-up/sound check tunes included:

- Divine Comedy: National Express (sorry Rob)
- William Orbit: The Story of Light
- Groove Armada: Chicago
- Groove Armada: Whatever, Whenever

and maybe some others
