Hi all,

After over 7 happy years of Empeg ownership, I'm finally getting a new car that will not be compatible with the Empeg's analog audio out. I'm having to wrestle with moving all my music to an iPod (using an after-market interface for a digital MOST bus) with a poorer user interface, no hierarchical playlists etc. (but that's a whole new topic).

So unfortunately I have to sell my trusty Mk2, s/n 080000223. I bought it back in August 2000 once my number came up off the waitlist, and apart from shipping back to the factory to repair a user-caused mistake a couple of months later (details in the forums if you do a search), it has been trouble free the past 7 years, playing music several times each week.

I added a 20GB disk to the 16GB one that came with it, so it has 36GB total space, and an orange filter. I think it's running v.2.01 and Hijack, though I haven't played around with the config for several years now. I have the in-car sled (currently installed in my 2000 Boxster), and the original Kenwood KCA-R6A credit-card sized remote. I'm also pretty sure I also have a soft carrying case, an AC adaptor, and an RS232 cable somewhere as well.

I don't want to sell it, but it won't fit either of my cars, and so am offering it for sale. I'm in Palo Alto, CA - I might put it on ebay, but if I get a reasonable offer it would be a lot easier to sell it to someone on this forum!

Please let me know if you're interested. You can reach me at trounce@gmail.com or on 415 425 7901.

Cheers,
David

Would it be compatible with Empeg's digital out?

Thanks for the link - I didn't know about that. However, there's no audio in at all on the Porsche fibre-optic MOST bus (digital or analog). In any case, with the PCM display/nav system, there's no room for an Empeg anyhow :-(

So, my empeg is still for sale!
