Here's the scoop:

I was looking around for car audio stuff on 12/27, and noticed that much to my amazement, the price of the empeg had been slashed! I purchased a 20-gig right away, and then came over here looking at the forums.

It appeared that even though the orders were being accepted and processed, people were being told they were out of stock anyway.

Breathing a heavy sigh, I hung my head out to ebay, where I found a 10GB unit for sale for $450. I bought it immediately, and it arrived, and I waited for a customer service email from sonicblue telling me they were out of stock.

Lo, no such mail came, and I recieved a tracking number. It came in the new box today, and I have the new 20GB unit, which leaves me with one excess 10GB empeg.

I'm willing to relieve myself of this thing for the price I paid for it, which is $450+$12 shipping. True, you could order one from sonicblue (I see they still have some of the models in stock, or so the capitalists would have you believe) and try to get it shipped to you, but I can absolutely guarantee you that this one is available immediately.

Thanks for listening!

I've seem lots of these posts and I really believe someone is trying to make a buck or two here.

If these people are that interested in the Empeg, why is this their ONLY post to the BBS ?

I don't think they are trying to make a buck, I did the same thing. Just waiting for everything to cool down before i try selling it. Or I may just keep it for a backup, who knows.

I bought one on Ebay for $499 after SonicBlue told me the warehouse was empty and they weren't shipping anymore. Of course I got a tracking number today. If anyone needs a 10gig player contact me.

I really hate to be a pain in the ass, but I can only take $450 even for it (I'll eat the shipping). It's a brand-new unit...
