In the last week or so, I've noticed that my display started to 'blink' or 'flash' occasionally. It seems to have gotten worse, up to 8 times (that I noticed) in the 20 min commute to work.

Its on a MK2a with 2.0b7.

Has anybody else noticed this, or could it be a hardware problem?

Thanks,
Tim

Just one periodic blink? Might be low power problem. Does the little battery light come on in the upper-left corner?

Nope, no Low Battery warning (on either the player or the dash). It is just one blink, random intervals, really quick. I've only managed to see it while staring at the player a couple of times, every other time I catch it out of the corner of my eye. It is definately there, my roomie asked about it last night

Hmm. It does sound like hardware. I'm pretty sure it's not 2.0b7. Well, the good news is (as my signature says) David Moss and the UK team rock. I'm sure he can fix it. And fast.

That isn't always true.. sometimes nobody has switched the soldering iron on and he has to way three or four minutes for it to heat up.

You drive an S2000 right? Made by Honda. In my CR-V if I turn the dashlight dimmer to a particular point between high and low my empeg blinks as well. Check that.

Nope, quite possibly the furthest thing possible from a S2000. I drive a '94 Grand Prix SE

Still, good suggestion... Check the display dimmer wire connection, the voltage to it, and your dimmer setting.

Whoops... wrong Tim, the one I was thinking of is actually nicknamed Time on this BBS. My bad.

Check it out all the same though!

The headlight dimmer never got hooked up, its a loose wire behind the sled. I meant to ask the install shop about that, but things have been pretty hectic the last few months.
