We're making up some T-Shirts for the comdex show, and we're looking for some suggestions on slogans to put on them :)

If we use your suggestion, you get a free T-shirt (we're hopefully making a few styles). So... any ideas?

Our ones so far have been along the lines of...

"Is that a 600-disc autochanger in your trunk... or are you just pleased to see me?"

"empeg. It's big and small and noisy"

Hugo

My suggestions:

"This ain't your fathers CD-Player" (it's an american saying)
"Own the future of Car Audio now"
"Empeg Car - Finally a reason for driving" or "Empeg Car - The Reason For Driving"
"Empeg Car - Home of the 4000 song no repeat year" (parody of the US radio's phrase "Home of the 12 song no repeat work hour")
"Only 2000 years to prefect Car Audio"
"Empeg Car - This thing is better than sex"
"When you're tired of hearing the same song twice - in a year"
"And Sony though 12 disks would be enough for your car"
"Sony: Mini-Disk it's dead now" (that might piss'em off a bit much though)
"CD - Been There Done That"
"The Biggest Little Head"

Those are mine...

How about:

"Music CDs? Yeah, I remember those, did they come before or after 8-track?"
"empeg: how much music?!!!"
"empeg: more music than you can handle!"
"Linux, the original soundtrack..."
"empeg: If music be the food of love, this thing's a sex-machine!"

I'm sure there's some *really* good 8-track and CD analogies to be put together, but I can't think of any polite ones!

Jim.

We have decided to produce the following T Shirt design:

empeg logo on the front
Penguin on the back with the caption "Penguins like ICE"

This will be the company shirt for Comdex, but keep the suggestions coming - we'll definitely make some more shirts soon.

This is not really on-topic, but you should all remember that the empeg can 'only' have about 360 CD's on it. At least if we hypothesise that there's 55 minutes of music average on a CD, that you are using 128Kb/sec compression, and a 20Gig unit. If we say 70 minutes of music per CD that number falls to a 'meager' 285 CD's......

Just my 0.25DKR

Yonzie

I make it 372 CD's at 55mins per CD on 20Gb (1Mb/min).

It makes more sense to consider hours of music, or singles, as many albums will contain tracks that you don't want.

This is something which we have made progress with, but which has been put on the back burner due to more pressing issues. I'd like to get a small range of merchandise online within a few weeks - maybe 2 or 3 shirts, and a selection of cool branded gadgets.

My ideal Empeg shirt, FWIW:

front: small, discreet blue empeg logo

rear: EMP3G as UK licence plate (the right font and everything -- is that legal?) with "My other Unix machine is a car stereo" underneath

Can you do those to order?
I mean, could you do an embroidered t-shirt with the empeg logo with my serial number neatly tucked in underneath? Or would you have to get them made in significant numbers? A personalised empeg t-shirt/mug would be cool

Sorry if they're incoherent, I'm pissed...

"Is your car open-source? Mine is." front
"empeg - MP3 playback for your Car has Arrived" back

"If you don't have an empeg, you're just swapping discs"

Personally though, I would want a plain shirt w/ a small empeg logo on the front, and a waterbrushed-shiney-eye-candy larger empeg logo on the back...

Nope, We can customise them to your taste with minimal effort - putting your serial number on in the colour and font of your choice would be simple. No problem with the quantity - you don't have to order in bulk

Mugs we can get done locally with some degree of cusotmisation, but the one I had done had the old logo only. I'd have to ask if we could get extra things done but that shouldn't be too difficult.
