I have a MkIIa with an original tuner, and am experiencing something odds (and have been for a year): the tuner does not tune. It moves between presets with the left/right button, but doesn't incrementally move up and down the dial.

I'm sure I accidentally hit a setting somewhere that forces the tuner to only move between presets, but surely there's a way to switch it back?

The tuner controls don't normally work the way one might expect them to. But the v3alphas make it worse, in that some of the tuning functions there are broken (not working).

To manually tune up/down on the "dial", use the Hijack KnobSeek function. This does *exactly* what you want.

Cheers

It's been a year since my last software update (or has it been two) and it never occurred to me that a feature would stop working... duh. I should probably update anyway, so thanks for the kick in the pants.

Mafisto, please note that all tuner functions in relation to the button controls are described here. You can move incrementally up and down the dial if you use the remote control. (The functions are labled as "Tuner: Increment Frequency" in the button guide.)

The feature that broke was the scan for next strong frequency. That bug is described here in a new FAQ entry I just created because I realized there had been some other questions about that feature here recently.

Can anyone confirm the most recent software release which has a fully operational tuner? I was gonna upgrade to 3.0 for this reason (following a planned memory upgrade).

2.0 Beta 13.

Not sure about 3.0 alphas, but I'm guessing you won't be using 3.0 for more than just some experimentation. It's got enough bugs still that it's probably not suitable as a daily driver.

Note that 3.0 is not required for the memory upgrade, there is a 2.0 build that incorporates expanded memory support. However, since it's based on 2.0-final, it will include the bug described in that FAQ entry.

I'm using a 3.0 beta and have a stock tuner. It's all working fine.
