I have an MX5, which is the UK name for the Miata. It is a great car, I would recommend it to anyone.

I thought Hugo owned one. Then again, he's such a collector, I lose track of what he's driving

Yeah, he's got one somewhere. (He's on holiday at the moment, otherwise I'm sure he'd have replied himself.)

Then again, he's such a collector, I lose track of what he's driving

He's definitely had that car for longest, though; he doesn't seem to drive it often, but he could merely have forgotten where among all his other cars he parked it...

I have a 95. Paid 10k for it, and it's been reliable and fun and perfect for me. I had to put in the JL Audio Stealthbox for bass, which works very well, but is a bit pricey. Put in good seperates in the front and some good headrest speakers and it sounds pretty good - better than you'd expect in such a small car.

The car is so well balanced. It's a little go cart! I love it for 1) the gas mileage, 2) the ability to park in small places in San Francisco, 3) the top down, stereo blasting, empeg playin' cool, 4) the way it sips gas, 5) rear wheel drive and lots of character...

My .02.

As it is in any case, make sure you want what the car offers. I know it does have everything jbauer mentioned, but make sure you don't mind the smaller space.

Of course, I'm not exaclty one to talk. My minivan has the largest cubic space of any car on the market, even more than the Excursion
