Oh yeah! Only just noticed the lights on the M12. Tthe front indicators look like the standard BL/Mini/Land Rover type.

Don't think my brother's 4.5 Chim has ever broken down - his experience is that it's only the weekend TVR's that die. If it is your everyday car, it'll last much longer. They just don't like sitting around.

Was at a TVR trackday and 1 blew up, 1 ate its brakes and 1 got bent. but hard to judge over a 2hr period of very hard use.

I would agree about them being better if used eveyday rather then left doing nothing as most cars are the same.

Heh - was at an SIDC Knockhill trackday where a ferrari went out and failed to complete one lap - he overcooked it through the hairpin and spun out. Minimal damage. He went off and got his Lotus 340(?) and used that for the rest of the day.

Unfortunately this weekend I am unlikely to make it - was up watching the TVR Tuscan racing the other day, and with the kids it is tricky to get many days out, but if I do, I will come and say hi. I do love the 7, although I'm not that good at driving them.

last time we went off for a day at Bedford Autodrome, the Caterhams were the first car of the day (followed by Evo 7, VX220turbo, Jaguar JP1, go-kart, offroaders, Clio Club and Formula Palmer Audi) and I scored very badly as I managed to spin 6 times in 2 laps. Mostly as I was still driving a bit like a Subaru, so accelerating very hard just before the apex - this doesn't work too well in a 7

Did much better in the Evo, Clio and single seater, and even won the day prize in the go-karts.

In fact, we are probably doing another in the autumn - cost about £700ish for a FULL day's driving. Interested?

Why not just do an open pitlane trackday - £150 for a full days driving then. Although you need to supply your own car

Ahah - this is more fun in some ways. Although I do like normal trackdays, the Bedford day is excellent. It is arranged as corp entertainment, so I was expecting very conservative guidelines.

What we got was superbly psychopathic supervisors, in fact the Aussie who was instructing me in the Clio was great - most of the other were just dropping from 5th to 4th to get through a wee jink on the main straight, but he forced me to push it hard enough to get through sideways in 6th gear...at 140mph ish. I have rarely had so much fun - the Clio is pretty good with a 6speed sequential and some decent power. The JP1s were pretty good too - basically a road legal Le Mans car. The instructors try to get you to go just beyond your limits, so you get better next time.

The only disappointment was the Evos. As I knew how to drive that style of car I was expecting to push it really hard, but they were a bit twitchy about their clutches. Apparently they are more chilled out now.

The Palmer Audi is very surreal on the track in the dry - just like a computer game. It goes exactly wherever you steer to.

Oh, and you can win prizes. Did I mention I am just slightly competitive in everything I do??

So you were at the tuscans too thought the TVR racing was okay but boy was the caterham races good fun, especially for me as mine is basically roadsport A spec makes me realise how slow i drive mine round the circuit.

Watched the Caterhams from Glenvarigill stand down at the hairpin, but for the rest of the day was sat at Duffus. Prime view of the T-boning of Peter Wheeler and got a good tan (almost burnt)
Wangled TVR hospitality from Glenvarigill, and almost won the TVR raffle (well, I didn't get the TVR, but got some fizzy, so that's okay)

Did you see PetrolTed (from Pistonheads) kicking about? He helped to patch up a fairly mangled Tuscan with Pistonheads.com stickers. A pity Neil went out, he's good fun at the pro-karting at Haddington when we race.

£700 ouch, I paid $400 for a 3 day driving school weekend, with an SCCA regional race on Sunday.

Hmm - the decent driving schools here seem to be around the £2k mark for 4 days on tracks, and around £700 for a day rallying round Wales.
