I don't know why, but I want one of these. . Does anyone know anything about them? Would it be so slow and small as to be unusable?

Wow, I'd missed that one. That's definitely the most [visually] attractive UMPC yet...

Yeah, but it's a UMPC. I don't see the point of paying over the odds for an under-powered, over-hyped laptop.

I can see that it might be a shoe-in for various niche markets, but wake me up when it's about half that price.

Oh, I agree, Im just saying that when you look at the other products like the Samsung and the one from that company I've never heard of before, this thing is like a design triumph in comparison.

And actually I'm reading a few things that suggest this isn't really a UMPC, but more of a Micro PC. I don't know of any official differences, but I will say that it looks much smaller than all the other UMPCs I've seen.

I thought UMPC was a Microsoft idea of a little device with no keyboard (tablet style) with a onscreen thumb-keyboard application.

A micro PC has a keyboard and is more like a normal laptop, just fun size. As well as the Sony above, other notable examples would be the OQO and the Flybook.

That would seem to make sense, and it's odd, because I would imagine MicroPCs would have more of a market for them. UMPCs are simply too large.

I guess price is still the obstacle. I really like the OQO, but could never see myself spending that much on a device like that.
