I have been reading posts about loudness and thought I would do some reading about the 7705 DSP chip so I went to the Philips semiconductors site to download a datasheet to do some more reading.

I noticed that Philips has discontinued this part, is this still the DSP chip in use?

Rod.

There is a mistake in the Philips Notice of Withdrawal from Production (NP note). The part that has been withdrawn is in fact an early mask version used by the company to sample the part. Another family member, the 7701, has been withdrawn permanently, however.
