My Empeg just died and I need it for a gig tonight... Help!!!
No display, flashing LED, ethernet LED lit solid. Here's the boot log:

empeg-car bootstrap v1.02 20001106 ([email protected])
If there is anyone present who wants to upgrade the flash, let them speak now,
or forever hold their peace...it seems not. Let fly the Penguins of Linux!

That's it...
I tried reflashing the firmware. It goes through a quick "Erasing Flash (boot loader)" and then "Programming Flash (boot loader)" and then repeats that again, and then I get the error:

Error "Flash program failed" ocurred during stage 0x10

Voltages on the headers look good 5VDC and 3.3 VDC. The processor is obviously running since I get the limited Linux message at boot up.

What could have happened? I need this unit in about an hour.

Thanks,
JeffreyB

Um... Sorry for the delay. Weekends are always slow on the board, so emergency requests are always difficult to handle. I hope your gig was okay.

Can you try flashing from either another machine and/or file?

No problem... Thanks for the reply. Everything ended well. I tried flashing from a 2nd computer and it went without a hitch. I guess my laptop's USB to serial adapter is not totally compatible with emplode.

Thanks again!

They usually aren't.
