This feature is originally from my old MacAudio MTR500 - it would be nice if user can predefine volume level at unit start-up! I was shocked few times in the morning when empeg was powered on with the volume from last night (LOUD!) or from listening at home (LOUD AGAIN!): Brrrr.

Version 2.0 and later ramps up the volume when you start it up. I think they are working on making that feature a little more consistent in the next beta that's coming out soon (as I sometimes had situations where it did not ramp).

I agree, though, that it would be nice if I could tell it "every time I boot it in the car, no matter what, set the volume to -35db."

As it stands right now, I am in the habit of turning the volume down before shutting off the ignition. I would love it if the player would simply do that for me every time.

Yeah, this one bites me when I've been listening to the tuner (Radio 4, turned up loud because tuner is too quiet), then when I get back in after listening to MP3s at work, it rapidly ramps up to deafen me with MP3s.

A configurable volume boost (offset) for tuner would fix this for me, as would having separate car/home "last source" settings.
