Has anyone tried to hook up the steering wheel (stereo) controls from a Pontiac Sunfire to an empeg?

I'm sure you've seen this, right? Have you investigated any of the options listed there?

There's this.

I've no experience with it.

Not meaning to be a jerk, but I just wanted to point out that we do have an "Installation" section of the BBS for such questions. Most of us check all of the sections whenever there is a new post, so you won't get ignored there.

Carry on!

I haven't seen any follow-up posts in the install section, so I'll just comment here.. If you search around the forums, you'll find some posts by me regarding an install of a GM steering wheel to Sony converter which worked splendidly with the original radio module. This was done in a Grand Prix. I've also done a GM sw to IR remote which also worked liked a charm. If you need more info on the 2 different converters that work, let me know.

gogee2000, on the first one you mentioned (GM steering wheel to Sony converter) would that be a direct connection or an ir one? I would prefer a direct connection if possible...thanks!

It would be wired the empeg tuner has a sony stalk input on it.
