display lines - 19/10/2000 18:15

I recall seeing this on the boards but can't seem to find it, the fellow had a bad display.

Is it normal for the display on the Mk2 to have darker lines across it, about evry fourth line?

It appears in every visual that has the white in it e.g. 'our emress lr'. It appears to be one of the grey shades. I don't remember them being there before.
Thanks.

Faint horizontal lines are normal, as was discussed in this thread. Lines like that do not mean you've got a bad display. They are within the normal variation of VFD displays.

I think these lines corresond roughly to the heating element wires that warm the display gases so that they can flouresce (sp?).

Apparantly Tony has special search powers different from the ordinary human being.

No, he had the exact address memorized. That's how much time he spends on this board.
