Wow! Is that site for real??

It has movies for sale that I didn't even know were released yet on DVD (star wars trilogy, latest Austin Powers, Lilo & Stitch,...). Other sites like Amazon and Dvdexpress also don't show these titles as available.
That, and the fact that they sell at incredible prices... $10 for a DVD ??

Does anybody have any experience ordering from that site?

Greetings!

I would assume they are bootlegs, because those films are not available on DVD (at least in Region 1). I tried the link, and the site was closed...

The Star Wars Trilogy isn't available. That's reeeeeally sketchy. The only thing I can think of would be that they're taking preorders for the possibility of a Star Wars Trilogy DVD. Then the company goes out of business.

Yeah, I thought as much. When I saw the Star Wars trilogy for sale on DVD I immediately assumed this was either something dodgy or a hoax.
It's probably both.

Star Wars Trilogy is NOT out on DVD, but if you go to www.ebay.com and search for star wars dvd, you'll see you can get them - bootlegs of course. Same for the other titles on that site.

Keep clear is my advice!

Well Ill let you guys know how legit it is my roommate ordered a couple DVDs so I should know soon. From what Ive been told this company is based somewhere in Asia where these DVDs come out early and not caring about copyright laws sell them to Us customers

Haha, okay I see. Yeah, those are bootlegs. Yeah, they don't give a crap about copyright laws over there. One of my mom's best friends lives in Malaysia. She gets stuff like that all the time.

Re: Link of the Day - 06/08/2002 11:28

They don't ``come out early''. Ten-to-one it's gonna just be a videotape copy that's been transferred to DVD (for the Star Wars trilogy), or a videotape of a big screen projection transferred onto DVD (for the movies that were released to the theater last week). It's alternately possible that someone managed to get their hands on an actual projector positive and had it professionally transferred, which is not outside the realm of possibilities, as DVD duplication requires a pretty serious facility. In fact, they're probably being produced by the same facilities that make legitimate DVDs.

Re: Link of the Day - 10/08/2002 12:31

Bitt is correct. These are bootlegs. Some of them videotape dubs, others are really low quality "Cams"-- video camera pointed at the screen in the theater. I wouldn't expect them to be of a quality level that you'd expect from a proper DVD mastering.

I would be extremely careful about any purchases made from places like this. Your money could disappear when the company disappears...

Not only that, but if they ever are raided and your information is shown in a sort of "black book," you could be facing some serious penalties. Ordering one or two probably won't get you in trouble, but if you make a habit of it, be warned.
