Cheap Ink Refills for Inkjet Printers - 23/08/2002 19:58
Has anyone tried those "cheap" ink refills for ink jet printers at all for an extended period of time? I was wondering if they were worth buying or would it wreck my printer?

Well, I've done four refills into the same cartridge (black) for a Canon BJC 250 and prints are still looking the same (as far as I can tell) as when new. I mainly print text though...
Just make sure you don't have one of the cartridges with "smarts" in them that refuse to work after X number of pages, no matter if there's still ink in them...

Generic inkjet cartridges completely hosed our Epson Photo EX. We had to send it off for repair it was so badly clogged. As far as refills go, I've only done a couple, but stay away from the generic compatible cartridges. Also, when viewed side by side with the epson stuff, the quality was quite clearly worse (even the black).

Epsons will tend to clog even with the factory cartridges, I can attest to that.

All inkjet printers are self destructive.

I can second that. I have a nice cheap Lexmark; it gives me no trouble.
