Question on MS Visual Studio

Question on MS Visual Studio - 20/01/2003 11:53

As I begin coding here at my new job, I am forced to use MS Visual Studio. Unfortunately, after coding under UNIX for the past four years, I cannot be released from the grip of the VI editor. It's engrained in my skull. I find myself using 'i', '/', 'dd', and so on, only to see the characters print out on the screen. My question is, do they have a vi/vim emulator-type plug-in thingy for MS Visual Studio? Something similar to viper for xemacs......

Supposedly, the OLE version of Vim can be used with Visual Studio.

I feel your pain. I hate it when you get used to an editor and you have to change for a new IDE. I can't stand Visual Studio, but whether that's because its a poor enviornemnt or just that I haven't used it much, I don't know.

Sweet! After some tweaking, it works like a charm. Now, I can get down to some coding..... <realization>Never been so happy about coding</realization>

I installed vim as my editor for Vis Studio (even though I don't use Vis Studio much), and its also my default editor for win32. The people I work with think I'm nuts

Why? Are you being too productive, making them look bad?

I think its the fact that I hate touching a mouse except to bounce between terms or windows

I guess it could be that I listen to the empeg while at work and people rarely see the same song playing twice also... A few of them sat down and played with it and asked questions, which was kind of cool.
