Are you talking about a replay tv ?

Don't all the currently sold ones have ethernet.

Yeah I guess all the new ones do have ethernet support. I was looking for a used one though. Maybe one that someone already paid the $250 lifetime subscription on. Otherwise I will have to save more $$ and splurge.

Who all have Replay TV? Anything I should know? Whats the best bbs for replay tv?

avsforum.com is the best one I've found so far. It has plenty of traffic and plenty of people to answer questions. Just don't ask them if you should get a tivo.

I had a ReplayTv untill about two months ago when it was stolen, and it was great. It's scheduling isn't as good as a Tivo, but most everything else is about the same. The ones with ethernet allow you to (unnoficially) stream to your computer, which is really the holy grail of PVRs. (Well, that and HDTV, but no one does that yet). If you havn't had a PVR before, you'll love it.

sweet okay. thanx for the info. I would never ask to buy a tivo. I'm sold on sonicblue products.

I'm not sold on the TiVo particularly, but no one's really sold me on a Replay either... The TiVo Series 1 seems to be the empeg of the PVR market: a hackable Linux box. Nothing else is.
