Netscape in XP

Netscape in XP - 03/03/2004 23:15

Has anyone else had trouble installing Netscape 7.1 in XP? Or does anyone have the scroll mouse issue in Explorer where it jumps back a page if you scroll up? So far I REALLY hate XP.

Several of my favorite older programs refuse to run, regardless of "Compatability" settings. Netscape totally wigs out. It installs, but never runs. At all. Double click the icon, nothing happens. No errors, but the process never starts either.

What about using the Mozilla releases at http://mozilla.org/ ? Mozilla + AOL crud = Netscape these days.

Personally I had no issues moving from 2000 to XP back when I used a PC for production. Took a bit to get used to the changes, but I grew into them and like XP better then 2000 now.

Oh god. I've seen trouble with Netscape since 1999 Definitely take Drakino's advice and go Mozilla -- You really really won't regret it. There's basically zero redeeming value to using Netscape over Mozilla. Actually, there's a substantial negative redeeming value to it.

You are so right. Mozilla rocks.
