Video Burning advice? - 19/07/2005 23:21

Was wondering if all those smarter than I can help me out...
I have a bunch of avi and mpg files .. I was trying to burn them to DVD, and even though they play fine on the computer, when I burn them to DVD (single layer) they like freeze for a couple seconds spuradicly during playback, and then the sound goes out of sync with the actions...Really noticable when people are speaking...I use NeroVision Express 2 and my burner is like an 8speed DVD burner....
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Are you playing the DVD on your computer or a DVD player ?

I am playing it on a DVD Recorder/Player that is made for your TV...playing on the computer...just use the computer to burn the AVI/MPG to DVD

Could it be an incompatibility between your choice or recordable DVD and the DVD player.

Is the bitrate and resolution of the video along with bitrate and sampling rate of the audio correct? If it's not in spec then players exhibit odd issues during playback.

I have no idea of how to check that...I am a novice at DVD recording...

I hope you don't mind me asking another burning Q...

I burned a show onto two DVDs from my Tivo using tytool and Nero. I mailed a copy of the DVDs to two of my friends. One person says the DVDs play just fine. The other person says
Quote:
although the clarity is there, it's a split screen. The station logo that is a constant throughout the concert is in the middle of the screen, then a black line down the full screen, then the picture starts again. This is both dvds

To help trouble shoot, friend #2 rented a DVD and it played just fine...

I've never heard of distorsion like this. And because it happened to both DVDs, I'm thinking it's more likely a combatibility issue rather than a bad burn... The DVDs play fine on my player, friend #1's player but not on #2...

Weird.

I'm no expert but I know some players will play +R and some -R and some play both fine. I haven't heard of that causing a problem like yours though.
