DSL Modem Help Please? - 20/11/2005 22:02

Does anyone know if DSL Modems (from Qwest) that was purchased from them, can be sold and still work for someone else who has a DSL line, or are the DSL modems specifically 'tied' to a location, region, network, or person?
Thanks.

Depends on the model and on what type of DSL is being used in the location it's going to and the location it was at.

Have a model number for it?

If it's just a bridge, it'll work for any location on a connection that requires a bridge; which, in my area is pretty much all DSL.

Anyway, short answer: Depends.

That didn't really help, did it? :/

Looks like that's an all-in-one device. It does support bridging as well. I'd say there's a pretty good chance it'll work with most providers. Still, it depends on their provider and connection type.

I'm not sure it's really worth all that much. Maybe $25. I'd say just go ahead and sell it and make sure the buyer knows it's up to them to make sure it'll work with their DSL connection.
