Looking for assistance buying from Germany

Looking for assistance buying from Germany - 13/05/2007 12:48

I am looking for someone to help me transact this auction and have it delivered to the USA. In addition to the item cost and shipping, I would be willing to pay the helping party 5 percent of the auction price for their time.

If interested, please PM me.

Thanks,
Stu

Will Amazon.de not deliver to the US? I know Amazon.co.uk will. It might be worth checking.

I'm not in Germany, but if you get it sent to the UK, I'll forward it on.

Nevermind. I tried ordering it, and it tells me:
Quote:

Which basically says "This item cannot be shipped to your address".

Thanks guys for trying. Like I said I'll pay 7 percent over costs to anyone that can make this happen.

Sorry I cant help with the purchase. Is it the item you desire or the item at that particular price?

I saw that site too; thanks. I'd prefer not to spend that much money on what amounts to an obsolete toy. Something about a digital tape recorder with postage stamp sized tapes just sounds cool to me! But to answer your question, it's the item at that price. Also, their site seems to be broken. You can't add anything to the cart.

I've contacted the seller on Amazon.de to see if it can be shipped outside of Germany or Austria, but he/she has not replied.

Thanks,
Stu

Yes there are. I've also looked at the Olympus DS-50 voice recorder, which has a very nice stereo mike (for a hand held recorder) and near CD quality recording, but it's lack of removable media and 128 kbps WMA data rates make it somewhat flawed.

This is more about nostalgia and coolness factor than about the best way to get the job done. In fact, I already have a very high end Tacam CF recorder that would blow this thing away in performance (24-bit, 192 kHz), but size and having a very rare and unique piece of gear from another era has as at least much value to me.

By the way, I believe I've located someone to help me with this, so I should be all set. Thanks everyone!
