I hope all of the Americans have the day off and hope you have a good long weekend.

As for the rest of you, get back to work!

Ah, that explains why the bloke at Sparkfun said he wasn't shipping the missing bits of my previous order until Monday. I thought he was just being lazy...

And to you.

I'm celebrating by spending the weekend in Canada. smile

Not because I'm feeling unpatriotic (in fact, with Obama in office, I'm feeling more patriotic than ever), but rather because it's the only getaway weekend I can take with my girlfriend in the foreseeable near future. I've got a busy month or two approaching.

We saw orca from the ferry today and will be going to take a whale watching tour tomorrow. Looking forward to it very much.

Happy 4th. Going into Rosslyn, VA to see the fireworks on the mall from the top of an apartment building. Should be spectacular (though not the best view I've had of them smile ).

What I'm most thrilled about this 4th: for the first time I can remember it's not 97 degrees in DC with 90% humidity. Thank goodness!

My one and only whale watching trip in the Seattle area was successful (starting somewhere North of Seattle and heading out to Friday Harbor). Saw a pod of Orca.

We were on an ethical boat, so while we kept or distance the less ethical boats went it much closer and scared the Orcas off frown
