So, I happened upon a bit of trivia relevant to MP3 encoding and wanting to get some background on it, I did a quick google search.
I then proceed to click on the number two result which looked like it would have some relevant text. It was a forum thread (not this forum) and I start reading the second post which contained the information that Google was pointing me to.
I finish reading the post and think, ok, cool description, that explains what I was looking for well enough.
Just before I close the page, I happen to look over to the left side of the page and see my own nickname on that post. Doh! I wrote it back in 2001.
It's amazing how far removed you can get from things over the course of relatively little time. It also solidified my opinion that the areas of knowledge one might consider themselves "experts" in can be constantly changing. Old things moving out of the brain as new things move in.
