Ok, is it my imagination or did Google (within the past day or so) just change the width of their results page?

I'd swear that the bar at the top that includes the total matches used to go at least as wide as my nominal window width (about 3/4 of my MBP's screen). Today I'm noticing the output formatted for a fixed width of less than half my screen, or slightly more when including advertisements along the right side.

Dunno. I don't keep my browser that wide.

Yes. It has changed in the past couple of days. It appears to be ~600 pixels wide now

Way to go Google. They've just jumped back to 1997. Or they've just put in a mobile style-sheet as their primary. Either way, it sucks. It also seems that the page-preview content returned in the search results is now shorter as well. At least for most of the searches I've performed in the past 24 hours.

Is it the number links across the top of the page that changed?

There is one called Web History that seems new.
