iTunes wtf - 16/07/2011 15:01

In itunes, I can find the soundtrack for "Streets on Fire" but only in the Brit version ov iTunes. The u.s. Version omits it.

Probably licensing issues.

Yes, licensing. Unfortunately it is perfectly normal to see different music, apps*, films, TV shows and books available in stores aimed at different geographies. Not something that is specific to Apple either.

Typically the non US versions of the App Store carry much less content as well.

* yes, apps too. For some reason for example Microsoft at some point decided to pull their Bing app from the iOS app store outside of the US.

I know some people who have multiple iTunes accounts (one US and one UK) and even multiple Apple TVs for this very reason...

I keep a US and Canadian account to make sure I get near-complete App Store coverage.

I have Dutch, German, UK and US accounts.

There was a time that buying stuff was considerably cheaper using my US account, but not anymore.

Switching accounts sometimes helps getting artwork for my own rips.
