Wow, it's good to see the empeg BBS still running. Thanks Tom for keeping it alive. It's pretty nostalgic to see the same system with the same dedicated users all these years later.

I was last here Sept 2012, feels like a life time ago. My empeg has been in its Pelican hard case since then, suffering from bad IDE headers (though my spare is fine). I intend to install my empeg in my new-to-me 2000 Volvo V70 which replaced my previous one which got rear ended after 18 years of service.

Yes, I still have thousands of sets of empeg lit buttons. I never could think of another use for them.

Yes, the web link in my signature is broken. I leave it there just 'cause. I do still have buttons though. Oh so many of them.

Stay tuned for a post in the installation subforum. I'm going to put my empeg in my new-to-me 2000 Volvo V70 (since my previous 2000 Volvo V70 which held my empeg for 18 years got rear ended and totaled).

I check in every few months. I do still wonder what happened to several users from 20 years ago including Darkstorm who made the lenses.

My main empeg was in my 2000 Volvo C70 until a few years ago (I did a setup in the glove box with a remote replicator if the passenger wanted the glove box closed), the car is often parked on the street, and I would mind more for the empeg than the vehicle itself if they were stolen, so it has been replaced by an echo auto/apple music setup via Bluetooth retrofitting of my SC-900 Dolby surround stock unit. The sound quality is comparable, the variety of the music is much greater, the voice commands are very comfortable, and knowing that the empeg is safe at home makes me feel better.

I still have to complete the building of the docking station, the empeg will find a sweet spot at home sooner or later or maybe in my hobby car.
