Sweet. Now I just need to pick out a song for my Empeg to play when I'm giving people the finger.

Looks like vaporware if I've ever seen it.. notice the broad statements that they've patented this idea? i.e. - if someone DOES build it, they can claim that they thought of it first...

Patents suck.

Since they're a swedish company, I'll see if there somewhere one can take a look or try it...

Since the University of Uppsala is involved (looks like a spin-off company from a research project) I doubt it's totally vapor...

Aparently they already have created a working model and are displaying and demoing it at comdex this year. I saw this on another website with pictures of the actual demo they where using. Yes it looks like it would be a cool idea but the demo they where displaying had "ring" like thing you slip on each finger and then wires all over the place. I think they might be able to get a good working model but of course they have a little ways to go till a finished product. The idea is great and so far it looks as if these guys might be able to implement it just as well.

That's a different company, one of their competitors.

It was demoed at Comdex. Apparantly, it takes a little getting used to. The demonstrator was able to work it fine, however, when one of the reporters tried it, all he irked out of it was gobbedegook. But it's a start!

There was another company, one of their competitors, with a similar virtual keyboard. The competitor had to put on a thing on each finger. Theirs you just wear a pair on your hands.

I'm looking forward to getting my normal dose of RSI without having to actually touch a keyboard...

Imagine a subway full of people, with their hands on their knees, silently typing away. Perhaps with an earpiece and one of those eyeglasses with built in monitor things.

I so wanted to post this Dilbert comic I know exists somewhere, but I can't find it. In it, Dogbert (I think) foresees a future when computers will have only virtual interfaces and engineers will walk around wearing VR headsets and typing in the air on non-existant keyboards. In the last panel, Wally is walking around twiddling his fingers in mid-air and someone asks ``So -- are you an engineer?'', to which he responds, ``No. Just a spaz.''

Man, I wanted to find an image of it, but to no avail. Loses quite a bit in the translation.

Greetings!

I was thinking of the same image, but I cannot remember the date.

All they need now is contact lenses with built in displays.
