I just paid an exorbitant amount to get a new amp and my empeg installed in my car, only to get home, try to turn my car back on, and get noooooothing. The entire electrical system is shot. It won't even release the key from the frickin' ignition!

F*#$#$*#$*Q!%@

I am suprised they didn't demo it for you.. if it were me I would have had it on all the way back from the place.. Bad luck. Some arse kicking is in the offing.

I did try to demo it, but I didn't understand the properties of playlists properly, so it wouldn't play anything :/

It's a Grand Prix, so i'm thinking more that it was a bad job wiring that triggered an anti-theft something or other in thr computer (how technical of me :P )

The guy running the store is paying for diagnosis at a local dealership, so hopefully we'll find out from there where this is to proceed...

Eh. Could be worse, I imagine!

According to the stereo shop that does my work, late model Pontiacs are the absolute worst to work on from the point of view of all the electronics in the whole car being integrated with evrything else in the car.

A good part of his livelihood comes from installing auto-start/Alarm systems in cars and in many instances he refuses to work on Pontiacs -- sends them to the local dealer where their install costs could run $600 or more, compared to the $75--$125 he would charge for the same installation in a Ford or Chevrolet.

Thanks for some perspective, as much as I love Pontiacs, I have to agree that past 94, there really isn't that much that non-dealers can do for most things :/

HA! I was right!

Ripped out their wiring, took the battery out for an hour, connected it back up, the car started fine. I'm going to have a talkie with them now
