Compact Flash Problems - 07/03/2020 15:49
Hi Guys,
Long time no post!
Recently dug out the old empeg and decided to give it a check over, the old hard drives are basically dead but I did manages to get a few old tunes off them first.
I have some spare CF cards, and thought I would give the upgrade a go. Why the heck not!
Using Mark's Big Disk Builder from the link at the top of the BBS, and the dual CF adapter from Amazon I saw recommended on another thread.
I have loads of CF cards to try, and all but one I have a problem with. I have a nice 64Gb and a 128Gb sat here I'd love to use but I'm having no joy. The build appears to complete, I get a prompt on the screen telling me it's complete and a reboot is needed, reboots fine.
The problem comes when I actually go to load music on, it basically fails.
I know the header, cable and the adapter are good, as I have this one crappy branded (Duracell) CF card that appears to work fine in the setup. So how come I can't get these 2 Sandisk branded 64Gb and 128Gb cards working? One is an Extreme the other Extreme Pro, both UDMA 7 on the outside.
Is there something I've missed here? Do I need a particular kind of CF card?
Cheers
Cris
