Can you password protect the web interface of the empeg so when someone brings it up they get the login dialog? I would like to do this so when I have it at work no one can open the interface and control it. Thanks!

you could do the old hack of renaming your index page to something obscure, and then having the new index page contain an input that, when submitted, redirected the current page to that input.

im sure that could be worded more clearly and concisely, but im exhausted. thats what taking a day off will do to you

Take a look in the Hijack section of the FAQ for info on how to secure the player at work.

Cheers

Yeah I already followed that part. I more or less just didnt want anyone streaming, downloading, overall messing with my interface at all. I think I will try Customsex's idea til I find a better solution. Thanks!

Mmm.. maybe I'll add HTTP authentication then.. possibly two userid's: one restricted, and one open, but both with passwords.

Or perhaps only one userid: full access with password, and most restricted access if not logged in. Mmm.. yeah, I like that option better.

Comments anyone?

I like that idea. Sounds perfect.

Hey, while you're getting your hands dirty with the kernel anyway, do you fancy taking a stab at something else, too?

See the thread about Hijack v381 -- now supports HTTP authentication for basic access control.
